Speech Contest

Your student has been learning about the steps to take to write a speech.  We have been talking about how to select a topic and begin writing the speech.  Please work with your student on writing and practicing his or her speech!  We will have a classroom speech contest at the end of the week.  The top 2 speeches will present at the school wide contest!

Fundraiser

The last day to turn in the Fundraiser forms is on the 28th! Your student will love the rewards and it is a great way to help the school.  If you need additional forms, please let me know!

Conference Night

Parent/Teacher conference night is quickly approaching - October 17th!  A sign-up sheet was sent home last week with available times.  If you have not returned this form, please do so as soon as possible so we can set a time for your conference!  If you need an extra form, please let me know.  I am looking forward to meeting with everyone! :)

Cedar Key field trip

Our class is going to Cedar Key on Monday, September 23rd!  If you have not already turned in the permission slip and $7, it is due by Thursday, September 19th.

Great first week!

The first week went by fast!  We had a lot of fun getting to know each other and jumping into the reading, math, and science material.  I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend!  I am looking forward to an awesome 2nd week!

Welcome!

Welcome to 5th Grade! I am looking forward to the start of the school year! The supply list and a classroom wish list are provided below. On Monday, you will receive the Take-Home folder with many important papers to read and some to sign and return. Please try and send those forms back by Friday, as they are very important. Remember that breakfast and lunch are free to all of our students this year and this class page will have valuable information on it throughout the year for you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Fifth Grade Supply List:
1 three-ring binder (not smaller than 3”)
1 pencil pouch for three-ring binder
1 pack of dividers for three-ring binder
4 packs wide-ruled notebook paper
48 #2 pencils
1 package of cap erasers
1 Post-it-Notes
2 Dry Erase markers
1 pack index cards (4x6)
1 large box of tissue
1 bottle liquid soap AND/OR 1 bottle of Hand Sanitizer.

Wish List:
Clorox or Lysol wipes
Ziploc bags quart / gallon.
