FCAT continues

This week 5th graders will be taking the science FCAT on Monday and Tuesday as well as the math FCAT on Thursday and Friday.  Please remember to be on time, eat a healthy breakfast, and get lots of sleep!

Reading FCAT

5th graders will be FCAT testing for Reading on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 15th and 16th) of this week.  Please make sure your student gets good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast, either at home or at school.  It is important that your student arrives at school on time these days as well.

Rescheduled: Star Party

The Star Party has been rescheduled for April 3rd at 7:00!  Come out and enjoy dinner under the stars!  The Alachua Astronomy Club will be joining us with telescopes for star gazing.  Enter to win a telescope of your own and earn EXTRA CREDIT for science!  I hope to see you there!

Star Party

The 5th grade will be hosting the WES Annual Star Party on March 6th from 7:00 - 8:30.  Come join us and the Alachua Astronomy Club to look at the stars with telescopes!  Pizza, water, apples, and candy will be available for purchase.  One lucky WES student will win their very own telescope!  Extra credit in science will be given to all that attend! Mark your calendars and I hope to see you there!

Speech Contest

Your student has been learning about the steps to take to write a speech.  We have been talking about how to select a topic and begin writing the speech.  Please work with your student on writing and practicing his or her speech!  We will have a classroom speech contest at the end of the week.  The top 2 speeches will present at the school wide contest!

Fundraiser

The last day to turn in the Fundraiser forms is on the 28th! Your student will love the rewards and it is a great way to help the school.  If you need additional forms, please let me know!
